These Terms of Sale apply to purchases made through the Letters from Syl website.

By placing an order or starting a subscription, you agree to these Terms together with our Shipping Policy, Refunds & Exchanges Policy and Privacy Policy.

Our store is powered by Shopify, but your purchase contract is directly with Letters from Syl, not Shopify.

2. Our Mail Club

Letters from Syl is a fantasy postal Mail Club offering original illustrated stories and creative items delivered by post.

Depending on the membership tier selected — Bookworm, Librarian or Scholar — your monthly mailing may include printed stories, illustrations, stickers, postcards, mystery items and digital extras.

The exact contents of each tier are described on the relevant product page.

Because our products are creative and produced in small batches, minor variations in colour, paper, appearance or presentation may occur. Mystery items may change from month to month.

Unless otherwise stated, products are intended for personal use and not for commercial resale.

3. Prices, orders and payment

All prices are displayed before checkout. The price applicable to your purchase is the price shown when you place your order.

Where stated on the product page, standard postage to the relevant location is included in the product or subscription price.

Letters from Syl currently benefits from the French VAT exemption scheme (franchise en base de TVA). VAT is therefore not charged on our products.

TVA non applicable, article 293 B du Code général des impôts. 

For deliveries outside the European Union, local customs duties, import VAT or handling charges may apply. Where these are not collected at checkout, they remain the responsibility of the recipient.

Before completing your purchase, you will have the opportunity to review your order details.

Payment must be successfully authorised before an order or monthly subscription mailing is confirmed.

Once your order has been accepted, you will receive an order confirmation electronically.

4. One-time purchases and subscriptions

Letters from Syl products may be offered either as a one-time purchase or as a recurring subscription.

Recurring Mail Club subscriptions renew automatically each month at the price shown at checkout until cancelled.

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the online cancellation functionality provided on our website or customer account.

If you cancel before the next monthly payment is processed, you will not be charged for the next mailing.

If the monthly payment has already been successfully processed, your cancellation will normally take effect from the following billing cycle, and you will still receive the mailing already paid for.

This does not affect any statutory right of withdrawal, refund or other consumer right that applies to you.

5. Subscription prices and changes

Subscription discounts, prices and membership contents are those displayed on our website when you subscribe.

We may occasionally change our prices or membership contents.

Any material change affecting an existing recurring subscription will be communicated before it takes effect. You will be free to cancel before the first renewal at the new price.

Changes will not retrospectively alter an order that has already been paid for and confirmed.

6. Delivery

Orders are prepared and dispatched from France.

Information about monthly cut-off dates, dispatch times, shipping methods, international delivery, lost or delayed mail and address changes is set out in our Shipping Policy.

7. Consumer rights, returns and refunds

Nothing in these Terms limits the mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable law.

8. Complaints and consumer mediation

If a consumer dispute cannot be resolved following a prior written complaint, you may contact our designated consumer mediator free of charge:

9. Changes to these Terms of Sale

We may update these Terms of Sale from time to time, for example where our products, subscriptions or legal obligations change.

The current version will always be available on our website.

Where a material change affects an existing subscription, we will provide reasonable notice before it applies.

10. Governing law

These Terms of Sale are governed by French law.

If you live in another country, this does not remove any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you under applicable law.
